DESCRIPTION:
imei addmimistrator has discovered a vulnerability in CuteNews, which
can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting
attacks.
Input passed to the "show" parameter in "show_news.php" isn't
properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.
Example:
http://[victim]/show_news.php?subaction=addcomment&id=[id]&name=[valid_username]&show=[code]
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.4.1. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
