DESCRIPTION:
mazahaquer has reported a vulnerability in OpenVMPS, which
potentially can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS
(Denial of Service), or compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error in the
"vmps_log()" function when logging various information using
"syslog()".
The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.3. Prior versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to the service.
