SOFTWARE:
Icecast 2.x
http://secunia.com/product/3468/

DESCRIPTION:
Patrick has discovered a vulnerability in Icecast, which can be
exploited by malicious people to disclose potentially sensitive
information.

The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error when
handling HTTP requests for filenames with appended dots and white
spaces. This can be exploited to disclose the source of arbitrary XSL
Stylesheet (.xsl) files via a specially crafted request.

Example:
GET /auth.xsl. HTTP/1.0

The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 2.20 for Windows.
Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Filter appended dots and white spaces in filenames in a proxy server
or firewall with URL filtering capabilities.
