Red Hat Security Advisory 2016-1968-01 - This release of Red Hat JBoss BRMS 6.3.3 serves as a replacement for Red Hat JBoss BRMS 6.3.2, and includes bug fixes and enhancements, which are documented in the Release Notes of the patch linked to in the References section. Security Fix: A security flaw was found in the way Business Process Editor displays the business process details to the user. A remote, authenticated attacker with privilege to create business processes could use this flaw to conduct stored XSS attacks against other users.

1. Summary:

An update is now available for Red Hat JBoss BRMS.

Red Hat Product Security has rated this update as having a security impact
of Moderate. A Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) base score, which
gives a detailed severity rating, is available for each vulnerability from
the CVE link(s) in the References section.

2. Description:

This release of Red Hat JBoss BRMS 6.3.3 serves as a replacement for Red
Hat JBoss BRMS 6.3.2, and includes bug fixes and enhancements, which are
documented in the Release Notes of the patch linked to in the References
section.

Security Fix(es):

* A security flaw was found in the way Business Process Editor displays the
business process details to the user. A remote, authenticated attacker with
privilege to create business processes could use this flaw to conduct
stored XSS attacks against other users. (CVE-2016-5398)

This issue was discovered by Jeremy Choi (Red Hat Product Security).

3. Solution:

Before applying the update, back up your existing installation, including
all applications, configuration files, databases and database settings, and
so on.

It is recommended to halt the server by stopping the JBoss Application
Server process before installing this update; after installing the update,
restart the server by starting the JBoss Application Server process.
