Red Hat Security Advisory 2016-1429-01 - Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite is a business rules and processes management system for the management, storage, creation, modification, and deployment of JBoss rules and BPMN2-compliant business processes. Security Fix: A security flaw was found in the way Dashbuilder performed SQL datasets lookup requests in the Data Set Authoring UI or the Displayer editor UI. A remote attacker could use this flaw to conduct SQL injection attacks via specially-crafted string filter parameter.

1. Summary:

An update is now available for Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite.

Red Hat Product Security has rated this update as having a security impact
of Important. A Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) base score,
which gives a detailed severity rating, is available for each vulnerability
from the CVE link(s) in the References section.

2. Description:

Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite is a business rules and processes management system
for the management, storage, creation, modification, and deployment of
JBoss rules and BPMN2-compliant business processes.

Security Fix(es):

* A security flaw was found in the way Dashbuilder performed SQL datasets
lookup requests in the Data Set Authoring UI or the Displayer editor UI. A
remote attacker could use this flaw to conduct SQL injection attacks via
specially-crafted string filter parameter. (CVE-2016-4999)

This issue was discovered by David Gutierrez (Red Hat).

3. Solution:

The References section of this erratum contains a download link (you must
log in to download the update). Before applying the update, back up your
existing installation, including all applications, configuration files,
databases and database settings, and so on.

It is recommended to halt the server by stopping the JBoss Application
Server process before installing this update; after installing the update,
restart the server by starting the JBoss Application Server process.
