DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Icinga, which can be exploited
by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the
"show_history()" function (history.c) within history.cgi when
handling certain parameters, which can be exploited to cause a
stack-based buffer overflow via an overly long "host" parameter.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
This is related to:
SA51537
The vulnerability is reported in versions 1.6.1, 1.7.3, and 1.8.3.
Prior versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 1.6.2, 1.7.4, or 1.8.4.
