DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in CiscoWorks Prime LAN Management
Solution (LMS), which can be exploited by malicious people to
compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error when validating certain
authentication and authorization commands and can be exploited to
inject and execute arbitrary commands as the "root" user by sending a
specially crafted command to certain TCP ports.
The vulnerability is reported in Linux-based Cisco Prime LMS Virtual
Appliances versions prior to 4.2.3.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.2.3 or apply patches.
