DESCRIPTION:
A security issue and multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in
ownCloud, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct script
insertion attacks and bypass certain security restrictions and by
malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
1) The application improperly restricts access to appconfig.php and
can be exploited to access otherwise restricted functionality and
e.g. read or write certain App values, list Apps, or disable an App.
The security issue is confirmed in version 4.0.5. Prior versions may
also be affected.
2) Certain unspecified input is not properly sanitised before being
returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML
and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site.
The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 4.0.3.
3) Certain unspecified input passed to contacts and calendar is not
properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert
arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site if malicious data is
viewed.
The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 4.0.2.
4) Certain unspecified input passed to contacts and calendar is not
properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert
arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site if malicious data is
viewed.
The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 4.0.1.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.0.6.
