DESCRIPTION:
A weakness and a vulnerability have been reported in IBM Rational
Directory Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to
conduct spoofing and cross-site scripting attacks.
1) Input passed to the "href" parameter in
/rds-help/advanced/deferredView.jsp is not properly verified before
being used to redirect users. This can be exploited to redirect a
user to an arbitrary website e.g. when a user clicks a specially
crafted link to an affected script hosted within the web
application.
2) Input passed to the "href" parameter in
/rds-help/advanced/deferredView.jsp is not properly sanitised before
being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute
arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context
of an affected site.
The weakness and the vulnerability are reported in version 5.2.0.2
and prior.

Apply the latest Fix Pack (please see the vendor's advisory for
details).
