DESCRIPTION:
A weakness and a vulnerability have been reported in IBM Rational
Directory Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to
conduct spoofing and cross-site scripting attacks.

1) Input passed to the "href" parameter in
/rds-help/advanced/deferredView.jsp is not properly verified before
being used to redirect users. This can be exploited to redirect a
user to an arbitrary website e.g. when a user clicks a specially
crafted link to an affected script hosted within the web
application.

2) Input passed to the "href" parameter in
/rds-help/advanced/deferredView.jsp is not properly sanitised before
being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute
arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context
of an affected site.

The weakness and the vulnerability are reported in version 5.2.0.2
and prior.

SOLUTION:
Apply the latest Fix Pack (please see the vendor's advisory for
details).

PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
Reported by the vendor.
