VULNERABILITY SUMMARY
A potential security vulnerability has been identified with OpenVMS ACMELOGIN
(sys$acm enabled loginout.exe). The vulnerability could be locally exploited
to allow unauthorized access and increased privileges.

RESOLUTION

HP has made the following patch kits available to resolve the vulnerability.

To determine if the OpenVMS system has sys$acm enabled loginout.exe, execute
the following command:

$ analyze/image/select=IDENTIFICATION=IMAGE sys$system:loginout.exe

If LOGIN98 is a part of the output string then sys$acm enabled loginout.exe
is installed on the system and the patch kit below should be installed.

Example:

$ analyze/image/select=IDENTIFICATION=IMAGE sys$system:loginout.exe
SYS$COMMON:[SYSEXE]LOGINOUT.EXE;1
"LOGIN98 X-1"
