DESCRIPTION:
A security issue has been reported in OpenStack Compute (Nova), which
can be exploited by malicious users to bypass certain security
restrictions.
The security issue is caused due to an error when handling protocols
defined with incorrect cases via the EC2 and OS APIs and can be
exploited to incorrectly set a "Security Group" and e.g. cause
"Security Group" rules to fail.
The security issue is reported in the series Diablo (2011.3), Essex
(2012.1), and Folsom (2012.2).
SOLUTION:
Fixed in the GIT repository for series Essex (2012.1) and Folsom
(2012.2). A fix for series Diablo (2011.3) is currently under review.
