DESCRIPTION:
High-Tech Bridge SA has reported two vulnerabilities in Sony VAIO
WifiMan ActiveX Control, which can be exploited by malicious people
to compromise a user's system.
1) A boundary error in the handling of the "SetTmpProfileOption()"
method can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via a specially
crafted string passed as the parameter to the method.
2) A boundary error in the handling of the "ConnectToNetwork()"
method can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via a specially
crafted string passed as the parameter to the method.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities may allow execution of
arbitrary code.
SOLUTION:
Use VAIO Update, or apply update manually (please see the vendor's
advisory for details).
