DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Network UPS Tools, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error in the
"addchar()" function in common/parseconf.c when parsing non-printable
characters and can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow.
The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 2.6.4.
SOLUTION:
Fixed in the SVN repository. Reportedly, the vulnerability will be
fixed in the upcoming 2.6.4 release.
