DESCRIPTION:
Debian has issued an update for devscripts. This fixes some
weaknesses, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to
compromise a vulnerable system.
1) Certain input passed to the debdiff.pl script is not properly
sanitised when processing .dsc and .changes files. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary code via a specially crafted source
packages.
2) Certain input passed via filenames within source packages to the
debdiff.pl script is not properly sanitised. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary code via specially crafted source packages.
3) Certain input passed via filenames to the debdiff.pl script is not
properly sanitised. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary code
via specially crafted filenames.
Successful exploitation of the weaknesses may allow the execution of
arbitrary code, but requires to trick the user into using the
debdiff.pl script with malicious files.
SOLUTION:
Apply updated packages via the apt-get package manager.
