DESCRIPTION:
Carlos Pantelides has discovered a vulnerability in multiple NetBeans
plugins, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct
spoofing attacks.
The security issue is caused due to the plugins not verifying the
validity of the SSL certificates presented when logging in to e.g. a
Bugzilla or JIRA bugtracker. This can be exploited to spoof a valid
server and e.g. conduct Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks.
The security issue is confirmed in the following products:
* JIRA plugin for NetBeans version 1.2.1.
* Bugzilla plugin for NetBeans version 1.15.1.
SOLUTION:
Do not rely on the certificate checks.
