DESCRIPTION:
Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Oracle Outside In
Technology, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS
(Denial of Service) and compromise an application using the library.
1) An error within the CorelDRAW parser in the Outside In Filters
when parsing certain files can be exploited to cause a stack-based
buffer overflow via a specially crafted CDR file.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
2) An unspecified error within the Outside In Filters can be
exploited to cause a DoS.
The vulnerabilities are reported in versions 8.3.2.0 and 8.3.5.0.
SOLUTION:
Apply updates (please see the vendor's advisory for details).
PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
1) Will Dormann, CERT/CC
It is currently unclear who reported the other vulnerability as the
Oracle Critical Patch Update for July 2011 only provides a bundled
list of credits. This section will be updated when/if the original
reporter provides more information.
