DESCRIPTION:
Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200,
which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive
information and cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
1) The engineering software sends unencrypted data to the
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), which can be exploited to
replay commands sent by the engineering software via e.g.
Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks.
2) An unspecified error within the web server can be exploited to
cause a DoS. No further information is currently available.
The vulnerabilities are reported in firmware version 02.00.02. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
The vendor recommends to disable the web server. Reportedly, the
vulnerabilities will be fixed in an upcoming version.
