DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in the Linux Kernel, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the
"key_replace_session_keyring()" function in
security/keys/process_keys.c, which can be exploited to cause a NULL
pointer dereference and e.g. crash the kernel.
The vulnerability is reported in version 2.6.39. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Fixed in version 3.0-rc1.
