DESCRIPTION:
Luigi Auriemma has discovered a vulnerability in BakBone NetVault
SmartDisk, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS
(Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an integer overflow error in the
libnvbasics.dll module when allocating memory. This can be exploited
to crash the percolatorslave.exe process via specially crafted
packets sent to TCP port 37452.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.2.2. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to trusted hosts only (e.g. via network access
control lists).
