DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft Windows, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to the Windows Internet Name Service
(WINS) reusing certain data structures containing attacker controlled
values when handling a socket send exception. This can be exploited to
access or manipulate certain memory via a specially crafted
replication packet.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code, but
requires the WINS service to be enabled (disabled by default).
SOLUTION:
Apply patches.
