DESCRIPTION:
Red Hat has issued an update for glibc. This fixes some weaknesses
and a vulnerability, which can be exploited by malicious, local users
to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and gain escalated privileges and
by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

For more information:

1) The "addmntent()" function does not correctly handle newline
characters. This can be exploited to e.g. cause a DoS or gain
escalated privileges, but requires that an attacker can inject
newline characters into a mount entry (e.g. via vulnerable mount
helpers).

Note: This update includes a fix for a regression introduced due to
an earlier update not properly fixing CVE-2010-3847.

SOLUTION:
Updated packages are available via Red Hat Network.
