XScreenSaver is a modular screen saver and locker for the X Window System. It is highly customizable and allows the use of any program that can draw on the root window as a display mode. It is also more stable than xlock and has more than 150 modes.

FreeBSD 4.x kernel security module. Currently supports forkbomb protection, and setuid restrictions and logging. Future versions of the module will carry more powerful features such as stack randomization, malloc bomb protection, etc.

VisualRoute is a traceroute tool which displays a map of the path to the destination server by looking up the geographical location of each traceroute hop. The network service provider is identified for each hop, and instant domain and network whois information enable quick problem or abuse reporting.

Changes: New physical map option, improved tracing capabilities with UDP and TCP protocol options, and port availability testing. The IP location database has been updated.

Changes: New modules fontglide, apple2, xanalogtv, pong, gleidescope, mirrorblob, and blinkbox. Updates were made to glsnake, bsod, and endgame. Screen grabbing now works on Mac OS X. Various minor fixes were made.

IPA is highly configurable IP accounting software for Free and Open BSD. It allows to make IP accounting based on IP Firewall and/or IP Filter accounting rules. Changes: Added support for GTK/GNOME 2.x, the new hacks lavalite, queens, and anemone. Image loading no longer relies on external programs (xloadimage, etc). Webcollage no longer generates a lot of 404s and can now be used in conjunction with Driftnet to display images snooped from your local ethernet.

Changes: New display modes hack and spheremonics were added, and several others were repaired. Pulsar and extrusion can now load texture JPEGs. Rubik now does non-square cubes. Fluidballs now does various sized balls. Menger and sierpinski3d now also show polygon counts in -fps mode. Molecule displays real subscripts in the formulae.

portfwd is a small userlevel daemon which forwards incoming TCP connections or UDP packets to remote hosts. Multiple forwarders can be specified in a flexible configuration file. There is support for FTP forwarding and transparent proxy.

Changes: The ability to invoke an external program to select the destination based on the address and port of incoming connections or datagrams has been added.

Changes: Twang, glsnake, boxed, sballs, glforestfire, apollonian, euler2d, juggle, polyominoes and thornbird were added. ant, braid, demon, discrete, drift, fadeplot, forest, grav, hopalong, ifs, laser, lightning, lisa, lissie, loop, mountain, penrose, rotor, sierpinski, slip, sphere, spiral, strange, vines, xspirograph, gltext and webcollage were updated. A rare bug wherein the desktop-grabbing hacks could sometimes leave the screen wedged has been fixed.

Changes: xscreensaver-demo was redesigned, and it now includes small-preview and per-hack configuration dialogs. New modes of operation were added - One Screen Saver, Blank Screen, and Don't Blank (in addition to the historical "Random Screen Saver"). The following new GL hacks were added: "menger", "engine", and "flipscreen3d". New versions of "sierpinski3d", "xmatrix", "nerverot", "crystal", "gflux", "sonar", and "webcollage" were written. Many other bugfixes and improvements were made.
