DESCRIPTION:
Lincoln has discovered a vulnerability in Net Transport, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the processing
of eDonkey "OP_LOGINREQUEST" packets. This can be exploited to cause a
stack-based buffer overflow by sending a specially crafted packet to
the ed2k port of an affected system.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 2.90.510. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to the ed2k port.
